Location.
The room was extremely small and claustrophobic. There was no room to unpack both our cases without falling over them. The 'en-suite' was a toilet with a shower in it and the wash basin was in the room. The decor was dull, had the room been painted white it might have helped with the feeling of claustrophobia. Bed linen was clean but of very poor quality. The price was far too high, in our opinion, for the hotel, we stayed at 6 other hotels in the rockies and some were cheaper and they were far, far superior to the Astoria. In our opinion the hotel is of backpacker quality at 4/5 star prices.

The location was unbeatable and stunning, at a moderate distance from Chaba Theatre. There was lots of restaurants and bakeries nearby to try.

Great location, great staff and convenient restaurant next door.
Need a way to get luggage up the stairs. There is no elevator. No bellcaps or anyone to help lug heavy luggage up the stairs. Was unaware of this before arriving. Room was small but clean.

I enjoyed leaving the hotel in the hope my serious disappointment at staying there would be more quickly forgotten. I was also looking forward to our next hotel and the expectation their shower would flow with a constant temperature and not require a sudden leap to avoid being scalded. Also in the next hotel there would be reasonable space to move around the room and no disturbance from a noisy and smelly extractor fan from the hotel kitchen.
Most things!

I stayed for 3 nights in a Standard King Room and absolutely loved the cozy feel of the place, especially the comfy beds and the lovely mountain view from the window. The hotel offers great relaxation options like a nice pool and a calming spa area to unwind after a day of exploring. The only downside was that the room was a bit snug, but it still felt tidy and welcoming. 🌟

The hotel is perfectly situation if you want to experience the national park and you have Laundry facilities in the hotel. Rooms are nice and clean. Staff is helpful and friendly
The sink is in the room not in the bathroom which is a little bit arkward and the internet connection doesn't work for most european laptops.

It is in a central position in Jasper.
The hotel was situated on the main street close to the railway station. There is no hotel parking available but there is a free public car park across from the hotel, however if you can't find space to unload your luggage you have a fair distance to the crossing point, to gain access across the busy dual lane road to the hotel. On arrival at the hotel the staff where helpful but insisted that a cover charge of $100 was required to cover any damages. The money would be returned to your credit card account when the housekeeping staff were satisfied that no damage or breakages had occurred. There is no lift and no assistance was offered to help with the luggage. The decor of the room was out dated and shabby with stains on the carpet. The room was very small for a double and the shower and toilet where housed in something no bigger than a large cupboard, with the wash hand basin squeezed into the bedroom. There where two lights above the bed, neither worked. The air conditioning was old and inadequate which in the temperatures we witnessed during our stay was not satisfactory. There was no complimentary breakfast provided but a breakfast room was available in the hotel, however this was also available to the general public, with no priority for hotel guests. There was a large queue waiting to be seated for breakfast so we ended up eating at another establishment 400 metres up the street. I will not be staying at the Astoria Hotel again.

Great choice for trip. Absolutely charming and quiet accommodation with BRILLIANT setting not far from all shops, and Jasper-right downtown. The location right in the heart of the city. A great selection of fresh food.

The room was very small and claustraphobic. There was a continuous noise from the adjacent building's fan. It was poor value for money.

The historic charm of the building adds a unique flavor to the stay. People looking to explore the town on foot will appreciate the prime location near shops and restaurants. The option to rent bikes nearby, perfect for forest tours.
Unfortunately, some aspects felt outdated. The shower seemed cramped and the towels were a tad worn out, giving an impression of neglect rather than comfort. Parking across the street wasn't free, leading to extra costs that dampened the whole experience. Lastly, interior noise was more pronounced.

definitely coming here again
The room was spacious and super clean with very good linens and a comfy bed. It had great amenities like air conditioning, coffee maker, and hairdryer. The bathroom had free toiletries and a nice shower. The hotel is right in the heart of Jasper. Staff was cute and even helped carry my bag upstairs.
